About Us
History of the Pine Castle Woman's Club
In 1940, the ladies of Pine Castle decided that a woman’s club was needed, to provide a place where women could come together. It would also offer a meeting place for the community. The property at 5901 South Orange Avenue was purchased at a tax sale, and throughout WWII, hamburger dinners and ice cream socials to raise funds for a clubhouse.
By 1949, members had raised the money to purchase the materials needed and Mr. Padgett donated his services to build it. Our first renter was the Pine Castle Volunteer Firefighters, who were building their own fire station two blocks away.
Over the years, members have sponsored a series of needed community projects and have served as the first home for numerous churches and other organizations.

The Pine Castle Woman's Club (PCWC) has been dedicated to offering meaningful programs that cater to the interests and needs of its members. Among these initiatives, the club has hosted speakers who emphasize the importance of physical activity in disease prevention, reflecting the club's commitment to health and wellness. Additionally, the PCWC has explored its historical contributions, including its role in establishing local libraries and utilizing its clubhouse for vaccinations and health screenings during the 1960s. A highlight of their cultural engagement efforts includes hosting an annual fashion show that showcases the diverse cultures and traditions of Hispanic countries, further illustrating the club's dedication to celebrating and educating on cultural diversity. This event, scheduled for June 1st, is part of the club's broader mission to serve the philanthropic, cultural, and historical preservation needs of the Pine Castle community

Message from the President
Four years ago, I attended a princess tea at the Pine Castle Woman’s Club, which sparked my interest in their charitable work within the community. This led me to join the organization, and unexpectedly, to my election as president for the term 2023-2025.As the current president of the Pine Castle Woman's Club since 2023, I aim to uphold the club's rich tradition of community service dating back to 1947.
A key goal this year was increasing membership, which was successfully achieved with 30 new members joining.Another goal was to have meaningful programs to provide information that is relevant to our members. We have had speakers who have shared the importance of staying active to prevent disease. We have had speakers who outlined how the PCWC played a role in establishing local libraries and how the clubhouse was used for vaccinations and health screenings in the 1960’s. We had events that highlighted different cultures, including a fashion show of Hispanic countries. The final goal was to increase the number of opportunities for our members to participate in local charities and community service projects. We were so proud to add Nathaniel’s Hope to our group of charities in the Pine Castle community which includes the Russell Home, Servant’s Heart, and Life ministries. In addition to these charities, we have collected supplies for the Ronald MacDonald House, we prepared several meals for them, we collected suitcases for students at Great Oaks Village, and we bagged groceries at the FBCPC food Pantry. It has been an exciting time, but the best is yet to come.

We continue to support the Corner Rose Tea Room as the primary source of revenue for our charities. So far this year we have logged over 2500 volunteer hours. I have bigger and better plans for my final year and look forward to working with the executive board as we continue to look for opportunities to serve the Pine Castle Community.
